Southampton line up Koeman replacement

Ronald Koemans move to Everton is all but complete and awaiting confirmation, and Southampton are already preparing to make a move for the Dutchmans successor.

The Saints will make a move for out of work, former Ajax manager Frank de Boer, who was considered as the favourite to succeed Roberto Martinez at Everton, and repeatedly expressed his desire to take over at Goodison Park.

However, Evertons board had other ideas and proceeded with their number one candidate, Southampton boss, Ronald Koeman, leaving the Saints to search for a replacement.

According to the Daily Express, Southampton are preparing to make a £3million-a-year offer to Koemans compatriot Frank de Boer, who won four Eredivisie titles in six years as Ajax manager.

Lazio are also thought to be interested in luring De Boer, but with the Italians only able to offer £1.2million-a-year, Southampton are hoping to have the upper hand in negotiations.
