Liverpool certainly lived up the hype surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s side, when they demolished West Ham 4-0 in their opening Premier League fixture at Anfield earlier today.
The Reds dominated from start to finish and won the game with a double from Sadio Mane, as well as strikes from Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge.
Speaking after today’s game Reds legend Graeme Souness hailed the performance of Jurgen Klopp’s men.
“They were fabulous. It’s what I expected,” Souness told Sky Sports.
“They just blew West Ham away, too much quality, too much energy, especially up front, the mischief they cause in the final third.
“The goalkeeper wasn’t tested and from back to front they were just far too good for West Ham today. Liverpool will face tougher tests that Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham this season.”
