Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned the Arsenal boo-boys – abuse Alexis Sanchez at your peril – ahead of tonights FA Cup clash at the Emirates.
Sanchez swapped the Emirates for Old Trafford just over one year ago, becoming the latest big-name star to quit Arsenal for one of their Premier League rivals.
However, since the Chilean’s switch to Manchester United, he has endured an absolutely awful run of form, scoring just four goals and has recently been out with a number of injuries.
He returned to the bench for the 2-1 win over Brighton last weekend, but was not called upon as Solskjaer ensured that he would be fit to face his former side this evening in what will be his first return to the Emirates since his acrimonious departure.
While Sanchez is expected to receive a hostile reception from the home crowd, United caretaker boss Solskjaer has warned the Gunners faithful that it could spur the attacker on.
“He’ll be involved,” Solskjaer revealed in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“I think he’ll love it if the crowd turn against him. As a player, pride kicks in and you think ‘I’ll show all of you’.
“He’s been fantastic in training, his attitude has been spot on so hopefully he’ll enjoy the game.”
