Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has compared highly-rated youngster Mason Greenwood to Red Devils legend Ryan Giggs.
17-year-old attacker Greenwood followed up his first senior goal for United against Leeds last week, by scoring a well-taken winner in United’s 1-0 friendly against Inter Milan in Singapore earlier today.
Academy graduate Greenwood has been prolific at youth level and despite his tender age, United fans have been clamouring for his inclusion in the first-team for some time now.
Speaking after today’s match-winning contribution, Solskjaer waxed lyrical about the beautifully two-footed forward and even compared him to the Old Trafford outfits most successful player ever, Ryan Giggs.
“He reminds me a little bit of the Giggsy story,” Solskjaer told a post-match presser.

“You can’t send him on loan and he’s ready to be in this squad.
“He’s a natural finisher. He’s practicing of course but he just knows where the goal is. Sometimes you get players like this and he’s a natural scorer.”
Solskjaer also reiterated that Greenwood has a real chance of starting his sides first Premier League game against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday 11 August.
“He’s got a chance of starting that one, definitely,” Solskjaer added.
“He’s more than capable and will always be there, in and around the box, creating chances.”
