Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United ‘waiting on outgoings’ before Amrabat bid

Manchester United are ‘waiting on outgoings’ before submitting a formal offer for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Erik ten Hag has made the signing of the Morocco international his priority before the transfer deadline on September 1, but the Red Devils are yet to lodge a bid for Amrabat as the club focus on exits.

Amrabat has entered the final 12 months of his deal in Florence and is keen on a transfer to the Premier League, with the 27-year-old left out of the Fiorentina squad for Sunday’s fixture with Lecce as he agitates for a move.

Ten Hag previously worked with Amrabat – who is valued at around €30m – at former club FC Utrecht and United are informed on the conditions of a potential deal.

United have been unable to sell several unwanted assets during the current transfer window and Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the club are working on the exits of a number of players before the deadline.

Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest remain interested in goalkeeper Dean Henderson, while Eric Bailly and Donny van de Beek could also depart.

United did accept a £30m offer from West Ham for Harry Maguire earlier in the window before a deal collapsed and it remains to be seen whether another club makes an approach for the out-of-favour England international.
