Smith Rowe aiming to emulate Mount and Sancho’s England call up

Highly-rated attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has admitted that he is aiming emulate fellow talented teenagers Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho, who this week both received a call up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

18-year-old Smith Rowe has been earning rave reviews since impressing for Arsenal during pre-season and he scored his first senior Gunners goal yesterday against Qarabag in the Europa League.

Smith Rowe has been capped by England at U16, U17 and U18 level and he has revealed that his ultimate goal is to break into the Three Lions senior squad in the future.

“It is a great achievement for those two,” He told reporters after his sides 3-0 Europa League victory.

“It is definitely something I am trying to do in the future and England is a great way to express your ability. They definitely try to give youngsters a chance.

“The England youngsters are a very talented bunch and I think in the future there will be a lot of them going through to the first team.
