Arne Slot has revealed that Milos Kerkez is a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Manchester United.
Liverpool make the short trip to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in a huge fixture, as both teams look to secure their place in next season’s Champions League.
The Reds will be without Mohamed Salah, who has a hamstring injury, while Alisson Becker remains doubtful to feature.
Slot also confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Kerkez is facing a race against time to prove his fitness after a ‘niggle’ in training. The Hunagry left-back withdrew from Wednesday’s session and did not train on Thursday.
“Dom [Dominik Szoboszlai] is always available as soon as I am here. Like this weekend,” Slot said.
“Milos [Kerkez] has had some niggles and left the training pitch on Wednesday. I expect him to train today or tomorrow.”
Slot suggested that goalkeeper Armin Pesci could again make the bench, with goalkeepers Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili injured. Freddie Woodman deputised against Crystal Palace last weekend, though Pesci is pushing for a place. The 21-year-old, signed last summer, has impressed in training.
“Armin [Pecsi] is in a very good place. His team-mates are annoyed sometimes by how well he brings the ball out as they want to press him.
“It depends [if he will be in the squad] if Alisson is available or not.”
