Silva reveals Guardiola’s desire to win as crucial to Man City success

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has revealed that Pep Guardiola’s ambition and desire to keep winning more and more have been crucial to his sides record breaking performances this season.

The Citizens have all but wrapped up the Premier League title before the end of March. They sit 16 points clear at the top of the table with just eight games remaining this season.

City have already won the Carabao Cup and face a mouthwatering Champions League quarter final tie against Liverpool next month, with Silva admitting that he has been impressed by his managers hunger to succeed.

“What I think is the most impressive thing about [Guardiola] is the way he always wants to win more and more,”

“When you win 10 times in a row, he wants to win the 11th and then the 12th. And when you win 20, he wants go for the 21st, so his ambition and his hunger to win things are something impressive.” Silva revealed on Instagram.

Despite not starting the majority of games since his £43 million move from Monaco last summer, Silva has still played an important role for his club, featuring in 44 games in all competitions.

Guardiola has spoken about how highly he rates the 23-year-old Portugal international on several occasions in the past, and many observers expect him to play a key role for City over the coming seasons.
