Silva warns Everton are in for ‘a tough game’ against Spurs despite emotional Champions League win

Marco Silva has warned Everton are in for a ‘tough game’ as they prepare to face Champions League finalists Tottenham on Sunday.

Spurs qualified for the final of Europe’s premier competition for the first time in their history on Wednesday night, coming from 3-0 down on aggregate to progress on away goals.

Everton boss Silva admits the nature of Tottenham’s emotional midweek comeback may affect Sunday’s fixture, though is still anticipating a difficult encounter against a side full of confidence.

“Lots of emotion of course… all the games had big doubts and then the results – late goals and the emotion is really high, there have been good moments of football, because we love this sport,” Silva told the press at his pre-match press conference.

“Spurs did well, they can see they are living their dream, they are professional but the Premier League is not done yet, there is one game to play – even if they enjoy the last few days, and they will be full of confidence.

“It will be a good game, a tough game for us to finish well, but we want to play good football and do everything we can to achieve the three points.”
