Silva rebuffs Doucoure to Everton rumours

Marco Silva has moved to dismiss rumours linking Everton with a move for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Silva, who managed Doucoure during his time in charge at Vicarage Road, had been rumoured to be interested in making a move for his former midfielder, but has stated he is happy with his current options.

“Nothing in the Doucoure rumours, it is normal this time of year to talk about January transfers, but I happy with the team and we are happy behind the scenes.” Silva told the press ahead of his sides trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.

Everton, who rose to sixth in the Premier League after last weekend’s win over Cardiff, look well stocked in midfield with summer signing Andre Gomes having impressed in recent weeks.

The Toffees travel to the red half of Merseyside this weekend looking for their first win at Anfield since 1999.
