Everton boss Marco Silva has called on his side to maintain their focus during games after today’s 2-1 FA Cup win over League Two outfit Lincoln City at Goodison Park.
The Toffees started brightly and were 2-0 up after just 14 minutes via goals from Ademola Lookman and Bernard. However, there were plenty of nerves amongst the Everton Faithful when Michael Bostwick struck after some sloppy defending from the home side.
Everton would hold on to seal just their second win in 10 games and speaking afterward Silva admitted his side’s confidence is low as a result of their poor run of results.
“First we achieved the main thing, to play in the next round,” Silva told reporters after the game.
“For some moments it didn’t look like we would have a quiet afternoon. We started with intensity and some good moments but after one moment we lost the focus and gave them some hope.
“It is something which has happened in the last few games and it is something we need to stop as soon as we can.
“In some moments when everything goes well for us, even in our defensive moments, we are comfortable.
“When you don’t achieve the good results, the confidence is not the same. We have to be more focused because in one moment everything can change.”
