Marco Silva believes that Everton will still be facing a strong Manchester City team on Saturday, despite some injury concerns for the current league champions.
Benjamin Mendy is out until February while David Silva is expected to be out until January for City. Players like Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Danilo and Sergio Aguero are all facing late fitness tests to see if they can feature against Everton.
Everton boss, Silva, feels that City have great strength in depth and will be well able to cope with this mini-crisis, however.
“I watched the game [against Chelsea]. City deserved a different result in the first half,” Silva said in his pre-match press conference.
“Of course we have our plan for the match as well. We know how City is a very good team with a very, very good manager as well.
“We are playing against potentially the best Premier League team. It will be tough for us but it is a good game for us to enjoy.
“They have a lot of quality in the attack-line. David Silva, Bernardo Silva, what is the big difference?”
“This season, De Bruyne has played twice, maybe three games and I didn’t see a big difference in City [without him].”
Pep Guardiola could be without both De Bruyne and Silva on Saturday which would no doubt give Everton a small ray of hope before kick-off.
“We are talking about two fantastic players [Silva and De Bruyne],” Silva added.
“It is possible they don’t play, Fernandinho and Aguero, but I think they will be available and it will be a strong team we face.”
