Marco Silva insists that Everton are focused on their own game, rather than worrying about Liverpool’s plans for Sunday’s Merseyside derby at Anfield this Sunday.
The Toffees have only lost one game in their last six and arrive at Anfield high on confidence and with the strongest team they have had for many seasons now.
Silva said his side are completely focused on their own gameplan instead of worrying about Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
“It is our way – we will keep focused on what we have to do,’’ Silva told his pre-match press conference.
“We will see where we can achieve something in their organisation but we work on ourselves on not just focus on our opposition.”
Everton managed a 1-1 draw at Anfield last season under Sam Allardyce thanks to a late Wayne Rooney penalty which cancelled out Mohamed Salah’s opener.
On Sunday, they will go in search of their first Merseyside derby success in over eight years. Silva knows that if he can be the man to bring that victory to the blue half of the city then he will have a lot of ‘credit in the bank’ when they encounter any sticky patch in the future.
