Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has admitted that opposition teams no longer fear playing at Old Trafford.

During the Sir Alex Ferguson era the Theatre Of Dreams was a fortress that visiting teams dreaded playing at.

However, this season The Red Devils have been in torrid form at home, with many fans becoming increasingly fed up with the turgid football and lack of goals Jose Mourinho’s side have been producing.

Manchester United have won just four of their 10 fixtures at home this season and Shaw admitted after their narrow 1-0 win over Swiss minnows Young Boys last Wednesday that his side need to work on bringing the fear factor back to Old Trafford.

“Off the back of the result on the weekend, I think it was always going to be tougher than we expected,” Shaw told beIN Sports.

“Some teams used to fear Old Trafford but I think sometimes now people come in and think they can get results.

“Most importantly, that’s what we have got to change as a team and as a club — to bring that fear factor back to an Old Trafford that not many fear at the moment.”
