Aguero looking to get out of Barcelona contract following Messi exit

Sergio Aguero is reportedly looking for a way out of his Barcelona contract, following the shock exit of friend and compatriot, Lionel Messi.

The veteran striker joined the club earlier this summer following the expiry of his contract at Manchester City, bringing an end to his trophy-laden, decade long stint at the Etihad in favour of a switch to Catalonia.

However, just a few months on and the Argentine’s future has been plunged into doubt, following the surprise departure of international teammate Lionel Messi, who appears to be closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Beteve, as per the Mail, the exit of the diminutive genius has left Aguero furious, with the 33-year-old said to be looking for a way out of his Barcelona contract.

As per the report, the former City man had initially agreed to join the La Liga side largely due to his desire to play alongside his long-time friend and is said to have even delayed signing his two-year deal in the first place as he looked to make sure that Messi would remain at the club for the upcoming campaign.

Despite assurances from the club’s hierarchy that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner would be staying, the club have this week announced Messi’s exit, having been unable to agree a new deal due to their ongoing financial woes.

With La Liga putting a block on a new contract for the La Masia graduate due to the Catalan giants economic crisis, Messi has been forced to look for pastures new, with PSG and a reunion with former teammate Neymar seemingly the most probable outcome.

That has left Aguero feeling ‘incensed’ at his new club, the report suggesting that his future at the club ‘does not look good’, despite having only agreed to join just over two months ago.
