Manchester United could have to spend £14milion to get rid of German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The German arrived at Old Trafford last summer as Louis van Gaal brought in the midfielder after the pair worked together at Bayern Munich.
Schweinsteigers season at Old Trafford started slowly, and finally started to get going, before a serious knee injury sustained in January virtually brought his season to an end, and could be about to be sold after just one year.
Jose Mourinho is currently assessing Manchester United’s squad, where Schweinsteiger is still absent following his participation in Germany’s Euro 2016 campaign.
However a source close to Manchester United has told The Sun that Schweinsteiger wants to stay at Old Trafford and will hold out for the £14million he is owed for the remaining two-years of his contract:
Bastian will cost every penny of the £14million still owed to him on his two-years left.
He has had talks with Jose over his future but it is still uncertain at this stage. The new few weeks will reveal more.
He will not be pushed out and will sit tight for pay-off.
Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with making a move for the 31-year old, who earlier this week married Tennis star Ana Ivanovic in Venice.
