For a man who famously never talked to the press throughout his playing career it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep former Manchester United midfielder turned pundit Paul Scholes out of the headlines these days.
Yesterday he was having a pop at Liverpool players for crying during and after the Champions League final, as well as letting Jurgen Klopp know that he won’t ever be successful until he signs a top goal keeper.
Today Scholes has been having his say on whether he thinks his former club will sign Garth Bale this summer or not, and as you can guess the former England international is pessimistic that the deal will go through.
“Can I see it happening? No, not really,” Scholes said.
“The only reason he’d want to leave Real Madrid would be if they wanted him to go.
“Could he come to Man United then? I hope so. Every United fan would want him: great ability, great talent, scores great goals.
“If it’s possible then, yeah, great, I hope it happens. But I don’t see it happening.”
