New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri got his tenure off to a winning start on Monday, when his team beat Australian side Perth Glory in a pre-season friendly.
Despite the narrow victory, several Chelsea players spoke afterwards about how they enjoyed their new managers attacking philosophy.
One Blues player who is already enjoying working under the former Napoli boss is £15 million January signing Ross Barkley, who predicted an exciting season ahead for the Stamford Bridge club:
“The style that he wants us to play, it is really exciting and very attacking, as well as being very organised,” he told Chelsea’s official website.
“We have been understanding what he has been getting across in training but the more we do it in training, the more we get used to it and I can see from the training sessions that this season is going to be very exciting.”
Chelsea’s next pre-season game will be against Serie A side Inter Milan this coming Saturday.
