Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Antonio Rudiger’s injury isn’t expected to keep the defender out for a significant length of time.

Rudiger has been an important part of the Chelsea defence since Sarri’s arrival at the club this summer, keeping Gary Cahill out of the starting XI and considering his future at the club.

However, he was forced to withdraw from the Blues 0-0 draw with West Ham earlier today with what looked like a groin injury, but when asked about the severity of the injury, Sarri said that while he wasn’t exactly sure, he didn’t think that it was a long-term problem:

“I don’t know exactly, I want to speak to the doctor, but I think three or four days, but I think no more,” Sarri told Sky Sports.

Sarri will be hoping that the German is fit for Chelsea’s next outing when they face Premier League leaders Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
