Maurizio Sarri has admitted that he was worried at the number of chances his side offered up during Chelsea’s narrow win in the Europa League win.
Chelsea struggled to a 1-0 win over Hungarian side MOL Vidi at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, with Alvaro Morata scoring the only goal of the game.
Despite having 27 shots on the Hungarian goal and 75% possession, the Premier League giants allowed their lowly opponents a number of opportunities to score what would have been a shock goal, much to the concern of Maurizio Sarri:
“We have created a lot of goal opportunities but we have conceded two, three opportunities to the opponents,” the Italian said in his post match press conference.
“I am not worried if we don’t score for 45 minutes. I was not happy, but I think it can happen. I was worried about the fact that we have conceded three goal [scoring] opportunities to the opponent, for our mistakes.”
