Maurizio Sarri has said that Eden Hazard is the best player in the whole of Europe and would love him to stay at Chelsea beyond the end of the season.
Hazard’s future has been subject to plenty of speculation over recent months, with the Belgian having described a move to Real Madrid as a ‘dream’ on more than one occasion.
Earlier this week, the Chelsea star revealed that he has made a final decision on his future, although he hasn’t revealed what that decision is.
Speaking ahead of the Blues’ Premier League fixture against table toppers Man City on Sunday, Maurizio Sarri expressed his desire for Hazard to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge, saying he is the ‘best in Europe’.
“I speak every day with Eden, but I speak with Eden about his position on the pitch,” Sarri told the media in his pre-match press conference.
“I will be really very happy with him if he will want to stay because, in my opinion, he’s the best in Europe.
“But it’s up to him, I think. I want to see him happy. And so, he has to decide.”
Hazard will have just 12 months to run on his deal at Chelsea at the end of the season
