Maurizio Sarri thinks that Eden Hazard can go on to score 40 goals this season after Chelsea and Liverpool played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Hazard was on target again for The Blues with a well-taken first-half strike after a great through ball from Mateo Kovacic.
Maurizio Sarri spoke to the media after the game and he was quick to sing the praises of his star man and one of the most in-form players in the Premier League.
“Hazard can score 40 goals this season, I really think this. He is a great player and a great man,” Sarri told BT Sport.
Hazard’s goal was the difference at half-time as Chelsea looked to leapfrog The Reds and go joint-top with Manchester City. However, a fantastic shot from Liverpool’s super-sub, Daniel Sturridge, ensured both teams went away with a point.
It was the second meeting between the two sides in three days. Hazard was, again, the main cause of woe for Liverpool in Chelsea’s 2-1 Carabao Cup victory at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Chelsea are at home to Hungarian outfit, MOL Vidi, in the Europa League on Thursday night. Then Sarri’s men turn their attention to Southampton who the visit next Sunday.
