Maurizio Sarri was delighted with Chelsea’s performance this afternoon as they comfortably beat Huddersfield 5-0 at Stamford Bridge, but demanded more consistency following recent results.
Two goals each from Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard and a deflected David Luiz strike completed a comfortable afternoon for the Blues against the Premier League’s bottom club.
However, the result rounded off what has been a difficult week for Chelsea, who were themselves on the end of hammering at the hands of Bournemouth in midweek, a result which saw them slide out of the top four.
Speaking after today’s stroll at Stamford Bridge, Sarri demanded his side are more consistent in their upcoming fixtures.
“I think we started very well in the first 25 minutes and then today we played for the whole 90 minutes but we need consistency,” Sarri told Match of the Day.
“Today is all positive, we played a full 90 minutes, defended very well, so it was a very good match but we need consistency now, we have to continue to play with the same mentality in all the matches.
“I hope in the future we will not need a lost match to find the right mentality.
“Higuain is improving, he wasn’t physically at the top when he arrived, because he had a back problem and wasn’t involved, so only played a few matches. He is a great player, he is suitable to play with Eden (Hazard).
“Our best moment in this match was the first 25 minutes, the way we moved with the ball was very fast dangerous.”
