Maurizio Sarri has played down his side’s chances of winning the Premier League title this year, saying that Man City are simply too far ahead of his Chelsea side.
While Chelsea are also unbeaten, they sit four points behind Pep Guardiola’s side, after drawing four of their opening 12 games of the season.

Having finished fifth in the league last season, an incredible 30 points behind City, Maurizio Sarri has said that while he thinks his side will be closer this season, it will be too much of a gap for them to bridge in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
“We can recover, but I don’t think that, in the first season, we will be able to recover 30 points,” Sarri told the press today.
“I think it’s a mental problem. In the last three matches, we had problems with the approach to the match.
“Not only that, because we had some problems also in the beginning of the second half. So we have to be careful. We have to be focused on this problem.”
Chelsea go up against fourth-placed Spurs on Saturday evening in what is the tie of the weekend.
