Leroy Sane has picked Chelsea as the biggest threat to Manchester City’s Premier League title because of their appointment of Maurizio Sarri.
It only seems two minutes since France lifted the World Cup, but the big Premier League kick-off is just over two weeks away.
Manchester City were last season’s runaway winners, amassing an unprecedented 100 points, 19 points ahead of nearest rivals Manchester United, 23 ahead of Spurs, 25 ahead of Liverpool and a huge 30 points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea.
However, Man City’s sensational winger Leroy Sane believes that the appointment of Maurizio Sarri makes the Stamford Bridge side a genuine title contender.
“Chelsea have brought in a really good coach,” he said.
“The way Napoli played last season was really attractive. We really suffered against them.
“They (Chelsea) might need some time to get used to his tactics but they could be a really tough team.”
City played against Sarri’s Napoli side twice last season in the Champions League group stages, and while they beat the Italians on both occasions, even Pep Guardiola described them as one of the best footballing sides in Europe, something which his German winger Sane clearly agreed with.
Asked who represents City’s biggest threat to retaining the title, he said: “I think Chelsea.”
