Sancho to wait before decision on Man United future

Jadon Sancho is prepared to wait to see the outcome of takeover talks at Manchester United before making a decision on his future.

Sancho is currently training away from the first-team group after a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, who said the winger was dropped for the defeat at Arsenal in September due to unacceptable performance levels in training. Sancho hit back and denied those claims, branding himself a scapegoat in a post on social media.

He has since been excluded from the squad and is likely to leave when the transfer window opens next month. Sky Germany are reporting that Sancho is still leaning towards a transfer, but also wants to wait for the outcome of Manchester United’s ownership situation.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is nearing a 25% purchase of the club and is expected to assume control of the sporting project, which could offer a potential avenue for Sancho back into the fold.

A loan exit with an option to buy remains the likeliest outcome ahead of the January transfer window and there is concrete interest from Juventus in the 23-year-old. Borussia Dortmund, where Sancho shone across four seasons in the Bundesliga, are not reportedly interested at this stage.

Sancho has disappointed since signing for Manchester United from Dortmund in a £72.9m deal in 2021. He has scored just 12 goals in 82 appearances in all competitions.
