Alexis Sanchez has taken to social media to apologise to Manchester United fans for his disappointing form, although has blamed it on ‘unpredictable injuries’.
The Chilean has endured the worst season of his career, scoring a measly three goals in 27 appearances in all competitions as his miserable form in a Manchester United shirt continues.
He has been linked with leaving Old Trafford this summer, although his reported £500,000-a-week wages will see him a difficult commodity to shift on, though Inter Milan and Juventus have been linked.
United brought the curtain down on a disappointing Premier League campaign with a 2-0 defeat to an already-relegated Cardiff side, and after the game, Sanchez took to social media to apologise to the clubs supporters for their failure.
“Personally, I didn’t perform as much as I was expecting because of unpredictable injuries,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Press and people were speculating of things that were not even true. I was always a professional in all aspects.
“I apologise to the fans for not be able to achieve our goals, nevertheless we are Manchester United!
“Players and staff are questioning if we were doing the right thing and if we were giving our best for this football shirt… I’m certain that Manchester United one day will return to be the club, as it was in the old days with Mr Alex Ferguson.”
