Manager Jurgen Klopp had a positive injury update on two of his key players after it appeared Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk had picked up knocks.
Sky Sports reported that the Dutch defender was seen coming out of the dressing room after the match with an ice-pack on his leg, fuelling speculation that the centre-back had picked up an injury during Liverpool‘s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Klopp confirmed that it wasn’t too serious though, telling the broadcaster that it was just a ‘dead leg’. Salah, on the other hand, was seen limping at full-time.
The Egyptian had been substituted off for Joe Gomez in the 84th minute after taking a knock in the game, but in a similar vein, the German brushed it off as not a problem.
“Mo is the same ankle, it just gets sore the longer the game goes on. It’s not a massive issue, that will disappear one day, but it’s still a bit there at the moment.”
Salah scored in the home victory over Spurs, his 75th minute penalty kick ultimately deciding the game after Jordan Henderson scored the equaliser shortly after the second-half began.
Harry Kane had opened the scoring within the first minute of the contest, heading in a rebound from Heung-min Son, whose long-range shot crashed off the crossbar.
