Hat-trick hero Salah delighted with ‘fantastic’ 4-0 win over Bournemouth

Mohamed Salah was the toast of Merseyside this afternoon, returning to form with a bang after scoring a superb hat-trick in his sides 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

Liverpool’s number 11 has struggled to replicate his superb form of last season this time out, seemingly being a victim of Jurgen Klopp’s slightly less gung-ho style of play that won so many plaudits last season, in which Salah scored a sensational 44 goals.

However, the talented attacker was in sublime form on the South coast this afternoon, netting a sublime hat-trick, taking his tally to 10 in the Premier League, and speaking after the game, he picked out his third goal as his favourite.

“Scored three goals, went top of the table and kept a clean sheet. It was a fantastic result. I enjoyed the last one the most. I was calm,” Salah told Sky Sports.

“I know everyone has high expectations for me but the most important thing is to win each game and that we are top of the table.”

Salah was of course named as the man of the match and was presented with his award by James Milner, who was making his 500th Premier League appearance, and Salah took time to praise the former England international.

“I have to congratulate him for his amazing career. I hope I have more games like this in my career. But I will not take it [the award from Milner].”

Liverpool move to the top of the table after today’s win, although Man City will regain top spot if they avoid defeat away to Chelsea later this evening.
