Salah isn’t angry at Ramos despite Champions League injury

Liverpool star Mo Salah is not angry at Sergio Ramos, despite being forced out of the Champions League final and having his World Cup dream plunged into jeopardy by the Real Madrid captain.

Salah suffered a serious shoulder injury after 30 minutes of the final in Kiev on Saturday night, after what had been a promising start for the Reds. He was replaced by Adam Lallana, but Liverpool never quite regained the rhythm and momentum that they had built up in the opening period.

Despite Liverpool fans taking to social media to denounce the Spanish defender for his actions, and even signing a petition to get him punished, Liverpool physio Ruben Pons reckons Salah does have any hard feelings toward Ramos, saying ‘it was an accidental challenge’:

“Salah has not told me anything about Sergio Ramos,” said Pons.

“I don’t think he is angry with him. It was an accidental challenge.

“We knew that it was something serious as soon as he fell on the ground because he never complains. We feared the worst.

“I was devastated. I tried to keep him calm. I told him he couldn’t do anything about it now and that he should not worry. It was time to look for solutions and not regret that things had not worked out.”
