Salah and Alisson back for Liverpool at Brentford

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mohamed Salah and Alisson are available for Liverpool’s trip to face Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.

Salah has not featured since departing to compete at the Africa Cup of Nations last month, where the Egpytian’s competition was curtailed by a hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old has since returned to first-team training and Klopp has confirmed Liverpool’s leading scorer is available for selection. Alisson, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley are also back in the squad.

“Mo is back in full training so that brings him back into contention of course,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.

“Ibou [Ibrahima Konate] is not suspended any more, Joe [Gomez] is fit again, Conor [Bradley] is back, Alisson [Becker] is back, so that’s that’s positive. Thiago is a no.”

Klopp also provided an update on Dominik Szoboszlai and said the Hungarian midfielder could return for the EFL Cup final against Chelsea on February 25.

“It’s a super intense period. People think about the final, absolutely, but before that we have Brentford and Luton, I’m not thinking a second about the final yet. It’s a final, yes, but there are two games they cannot play.

“With Dom it will be around that time [the final] we will see exactly how it works. With Trent maybe a week or two longer so it’s not great. Not sure if Dom has a chance for the final, but maybe. Trent after.”
