The Senegalese international was happy with the win, speaking of how Liverpool had to up their game in the second half to run out comfortable winners in the end.
“Happy for the result and the performance of the team,” Mané told the BBC.
“A little tight in the second half but at the end we controlled the game, tried to push on and scored twice to make it easier.’’
“A team like this are never easy to play, sometimes you have to be patient, try not to lose the ball. At the end, we scored four goals and deserved to win.”
The attacker was content to add to his goal tally, but lament the goal Liverpool conceded, only the fourth they’ve let past them in the league.
“I think we conceded because we lacked communication, normally I am with Alberto [Moreno] on the left but I was in midfield and 1-1 it is not easy for Moreno. That is part of football, we will try to learn from that.”
“I was very happy of course to score but most important is the three points.”
Liverpool are now three points clear of Manchester City with Pep Guardiola’s men still to face Spurs at Wembley Stadium on Monday night.
Cardiff City are in 17th-position, just two points off the bottom following Saturday’s defeat.
