Roma have identified Brentford winger Kevin Schade as a potential transfer target after missing out on Crysencio Summerville earlier this week.
According to Sky Italia, the Serie A club are in the market for a left-sided attacker following Summerville’s £60 million move to Al-Hilal. Schade is among the players being considered as Roma look to strengthen their options before the new season.
The Germany international has two years remaining on his contract at Brentford, but a deal is expected to be difficult. Sky Italia reports there has been no contact between the clubs, while the Premier League side’s valuation is likely to exceed Roma’s budget.
Roma interested in Schade after missing out on Summerville
Schade has impressed since arriving in England, combining pace and direct running with an eye for goal. At 24, he also fits the profile of player Brentford are reluctant to lose, particularly with the club preparing for another Premier League campaign.
Roma are expected to assess several alternatives before deciding whether to progress their interest. With no formal approach made and Brentford under no pressure to sell, negotiations are not thought to be imminent.
The Italian club have been active in the transfer market this summer as they reshape their squad under Gian Piero Gasperini. Missing out on Summerville forced them back into the market, and Schade has now emerged as one of the names under consideration.
Whether Roma can turn that interest into a concrete pursuit may ultimately depend on Brentford’s asking price. For now, Schade remains on the club’s shortlist, but the financial demands of any deal are viewed as a significant obstacle.
