Rodgers responds to transfer rumours linking Leicester with Rangers striker Morelos

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed speculation linking the club with a move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian has excelled for the Scottish side this season, scoring 28 goals in all competitions, and has also been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Former Celtic boss Rodgers has moved to deny Leicester‘s interest in the 22-year-old, stating he will never comment on speculation regarding any player.

“I think someone is trying to wind someone up,” Rodgers said in his pre-match press conference.

“I never will comment on speculation of any player. My focus is on the group we have now, whether we can focus and get better as a group and then with the summer, we will look to strengthen and improve then.

“We understand where the team needs improving and we’ll look at the squad over the remainder of the season to see. Every year we want to improve and that’s something we’ll look at in the summer.”

Leicester travel to the North West this afternoon to face Burnley as they look to improve on their 10th placed position in the Premier League.
