Robson: Rashford is ‘going in the right direction’

While a lot of people want to have a say on what is right or wrong for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, club legend Bryan Robson has insisted that he is going in the right direction.

Every week it seems like there is a different pundit spouting the same old rhetoric that Rashford should either be played as a centre-forward, or be allowed to leave Manchester United, as he continually is pushed out onto the right-wing.

However, with Romelu Lukaku the undoubted first choice striker, and Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez seemingly ahead of him on the left, Jose Mourinho has little option but to play him out wide on the right.

While it seems that Rashford has been around for some time, it is worth remembering that Rashford is only 21 years old, and former United captain Bryan Robson thinks that Rashford is at the right place in his career.

“I think you always want to improve and better yourself,” Robson told ManUtd.com.

“Marcus is in a great position, he’s been in the first-team squad for over three years now.

“You can see him maturing, he’s building his stamina and strength, and he’s looking really good and sharp at the moment. With Marcus just turning 21 – happy birthday, Marcus! – he’s going in the right direction.”
