Liverpool defender Andy Robertson reckons it would be foolish to dismiss both Chelsea and Arsenal from this seasons Premier League title race.
The commonly held view since the start of the season has been that the battle for the Premier League crown will be a two horse race between Man City and Liverpool.
However, Robertson believes that Maurizio Sarri’s unbeaten Chelsea and Unai Emery’s in-form Arsenal deserve to be mentioned as contenders for English football’s biggest prize.
“We feel we can compete with any team but people seem to be just dismissing other teams and making it a two-horse race, which is not the case,” Robertson told Sky Sports.
“We played Chelsea last week, who were excellent. They have been on a great run.
“You see teams like Arsenal with a new manager putting great results together so there is a long way to go and there will be a lot of teams competing but we hope we are one of them.”
Liverpool played out a 0-0 draw with Champions Man City yesterday, meaning that both teams and Chelsea sit joint top of the table on 20 points as we head into the international break.
Arsenal have won six consecutive games in the league and sit just two points behind the leaders, with Unai Emery’s side in the top four for the first time in 2018.
