Rio Ferdinand has praised Jurgen Klopp, revealing why he ‘admires’ the current Liverpool side.
Klopp’s side have reached the Champions League semi-finals for the second successive season, whilst currently trailing Manchester City by just a point in the race for the Premier League title.
Former England international Ferdinand was full of praise for the German, hailing the 51-year-old’s ability to get the most from his Liverpool players.
“I think he’s done an amazing job,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“What he’s done, he’s getting the best out of these players. What he gets out of them in terms of performance on a consistent basis is something to admire.
“What I loved about that interview is the three things he mentioned when he spoke about the centre forwards.
“What I love about them is their desire, their attitude, their character.
“They are three things that are lost on a lot of players in current football sometimes.
“You need those ingredients there, accumulated together, to make top, top players who perform.”
