Declan Rice has urged his West Ham team to make the London Stadium a fortress for the rest of this season.
The Hammers have lost four of their opening nine home league games. Yet, Rice feels that with their recent upturn in form his side can now look to making the London Stadium a very difficult place for away teams to get a result.
“With every home game that we have, we can’t afford to be losing games at home because we’ve got to start to make that fortress really,’’ Rice told Sky Sports.
“We’ve got to make it hard for teams to come and nick points from us, starting with Watford on Saturday.
“We’ve had the last two good [home] results over Palace and Cardiff, we’ve got to go out there and beat Watford and move up the table.”
Watford, Brighton and Arsenal are the next three visitors to the London Stadium and Rice and co will be hoping to take at least six points from those games. Any more than that would be a fantastic return for Pellegrini’s men.
