We all know that the top football players in the World get paid a huge amount of money and now a list of the beautiful games top ten earners has been revealed.
French publication L’Equipe has complied the list and rather unsurprisingly Barcelona captain and five time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi is the man racking in more cash than all others.
It is somewhat shocking though to see just how much more the Argentine superstar makes than his age old rival for the title of the World’s greatest player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Antoine Griezmann’s decision to spurn a move to the Nou Camp last summer to stay at Atletico Madrid certainly begins to make a bit more sense when you see the kind of pay check he is getting at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, while PSG and France wonderkid Kylian Mbappe is one wealthy 20-year-old.
Fans of English Football will certainly scoff at the only two Premier League players who make the list. Manchester United’s 30-year-old attacker Alexis Sanchez is the eight highest paid player on the planet, despite being absolute dogsh*t since swapping the Emirates for Old Trafford just over a year ago.
Arsenal enigma Mesut Ozil comes in in 10th place, even those his own manager Unai Emery has openly admitted the former Germany international lacks the required work-rate to play in big games. The 30-year-old does have 18.7 million followers on Instagram though so at least he’s like really cool.
