Reports: Midfielder wants to force Manchester United move

Manchester United have been linked with a plethora of midfielders in the last few months, and now according to reports this morning, one of their potential targets wants to force his way into the Premier League club.

United midfielder Michael Carrick is set to hang up his boots at the end of the season and has already started his transition from player to coach having been spotted alongside Mourinho on the bench for United’s recent game against Swansea.

Aside from Carrick’s departure, United are also seemingly set to lose Marouane Fellaini from their midfield, after the Belgian has so far refused to extend his contract which expires in less than three months.

The Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Toni Kroos, Arturo Vidal, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Jean Michel Seri to name but a few as they look to strengthen in the middle of the park in order of closing the gap to Manchester City.

However, according to The Sun, their task of signing a midfielder could be made easier as they claim Monaco midfielder Fabinho wants to join the club.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a number of years, but finally looks set to leave the French principality club. Monaco have cashed in on virtually every star member of their title winning campaign of last season, with Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy all moving to the Premier League, while Kylian Mbappe moved to PSG.

Due to the high number of departures last summer, Monaco stopped Fabinho from leaving, but have admitted that they will allow him to leave this summer.

It is thought that Fabinho is valued at around £55 million by Monaco.
