Maurizio Sarri is not interested in a reunion with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, with the Italian ready to trust Miralem Pjanic at Juventus.
Jorginho joined Chelsea in a £50m deal from Napoli last summer, following Sarri in swapping Naples for West London.
Sarri saw the Italy international as a key figure in his system as he attempted to implement his ‘Sarri-ball’ style at Stamford Bridge, but left the Blues for Juventus after just one season in the Premier League, with Jorginho claimed to be keen to follow the 60-year-old to Turin.
However, according to the Mail, Sarri is an admirer of Juventus’ Bosnian international Pjanic, believing he can mould the 29-year-old into a similar style of the midfield playmaker, while the Serie A champions have also been linked with PSG’s Adrien Rabiot.
Jorginho was heavily criticised at times by Chelsea fans during his debut season at the club, being targeted by sections of the support for his often uninspiring sideways passing, with Sarri having moved N’Golo Kante out of his usual defensive midfield role to accommodate his fellow countryman.
The Brazilian-born midfielder may now have to fight for his future under Chelsea’s next manager, tipped to be club great and Derby County boss Frank Lampard.
On his day, he was simply unplayable 🔥
