Report: Rashford to consider Man United future if Mourinho stays

Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has become frustrated at his lack of game time at Old Trafford and will consider his future at the club if Jose Mourinho remains in charge beyond this summer.

According to a report in the Mirror the England international was fuming at having been left on the bench for the Manchester Derby last weekend.

“Marcus was really unhappy with being left out for the derby.” A United source said.

“If Mourinho is still there next season, Marcus might not be, as he wants to start every game.”

Rashord has actually made 44 appearances under Mourinho this season, although only 22 have been starts. The 20-year-old has still managed to post respectable numbers with his limited opportunities, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists.

Rashord has been at United since the age of seven and if he left the his boyhood club there would inevitably be a serious outcry from Red Devils fans.

Many would also point to his departure as further evidence of Mourinho struggling to develop young talent – something which is in direct contrast to the Old Trafford club’s tradition.

The talented youngster is also said to be increasingly disillusioned by being asked to play on the right wing, with January signing Alexis Sanchez seemingly now nailed on to start in Rashord’s favoured position on the left.
