Report: Martial to be sold as Mourinho ‘loses patience’ with talented attacker

Anthony Martial’s Manchester United future took another twist today with reports emerging that he could be set to move to another Premier League club after Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho finally lost all patience with the talented youngster.

Martial moved to Manchester United from Monaco in a £36 million deal in 2015 and the 22-year-old made himself an instant hero to the Old Trafford Faithful when he scored a superb solo goal on his debut against bitter rivals Liverpool.

The France international was United’s main attacking force during the Louis van Gaal era, but he has struggled for game time ever since Jose Mourinho took over at Old Trafford in 2016.

Martial’s agent announced at the start of this summer that his client wanted to leave United and Mourinho was eager for him to be offloaded to raise funds to sign a top-class centre-back, however Red Devils CEO Ed Woodward vetoed any deal that would see talented forward leave the 20 time League Champions as he believes the former Monaco man is a World Class talent.

It had even been reported last week that Martial was negotiating a new long-term contract with United, but according to reports in the Sun today it seems as though Mourinho has had enough of the forwards sullen attitude behind the scenes and will again urge his club to sell Martial.

Premier League trio Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are all said to be interested in signing the 2015 European Golden Boy.

From a Manchester United fans perspective, it is just a further demonstration of the mess the club has become behind the scenes, with every single day seemingly being dominated by a negative headline about the clubs manager, star players or CEO.
