Manchester United are set to refuse any bids for star pair Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
World Cup winner Pogba’s future has been dominating the headlines in recent days with reports suggesting him and his agent Mina Raiola are trying to engineer a move away from Old Trafford this summer, due to his strained relationship with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United rebuffed an offer from La Liga Champions Barcelona for the midfielder last night, while his former club Juventus are also keen on bringing him back to Turin.
Fellow Frenchman Martial has already stated his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Chelsea, Spurs, and Bayern Munich all having been credited with having an interest in signing the 22-year-old attacker.
However, ESPN are reporting that United’s hierarchy are determined to resist any bids for the pair, and remain focused on fulfilling Mourinho’s wish of signing a new centre-back before the Premier League transfer window closes at 5 pm on Thursday.
United’s Portuguese coach has previously stated that he would like to sign two more players this summer, believed to be a centre-half and an attacker, although his priority is very much to sign a world class defender.
