Report: Manchester United ready to pay off Alexis Sanchez this summer

Manchester United are ready to pay £13m to get rid of Alexis Sanchez this summer.

Chile international forward Sanchez has been a major disappointment since signing from Arsenal in January 2018, scoring just three league goals in almost 18 months at Old Trafford.

Sanchez has failed to convince Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the 46-year-old’s arrival as manager in December, with the Norwegian making it clear Sanchez is not part of his future plans.

The stumbling block in Sanchez leaving United is the 30-year-old’s huge £500,000-a-week wages.

Sanchez became the Premier League‘s highest-paid player when joining the club last year and it is unlikely any club will match his current financial package.

According to the Daily Mail United will agree to pay half of Sanchez’s salary should he leave the club, equating to £13m, in an attempt to persuade another club to take a chance on the former Barcelona star.

United believe their best hope is securing a loan deal for Sanchez, with the hope that he can rediscover his best form ahead of a permanent move away from the club.
