Despite Jose Mourinho coming in for some heavy criticism over the course of this season, Manchester United’s board remain fully behind their Portuguese coach.

According to Jason Burt in the Telegraph the Old Trafford hierarchy are set to back their manager with another massive  spending spree this summer as they look to regain their place as the dominant force in English football.

The report also suggests that United’s board are unconcerned by criticism of Mourinho’s pragmatic playing style, once he delivers trophies.

As it stands the following players look likely to leave Old Trafford this summer; Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.

However, perhaps the biggest indication of how much that United’s board remain steadfastly behind Mourinho is that they have let it be known that they will not stand in his way if the former Chelsea coach decides to sell the clubs record signing Paul Pogba.

The France international is the Old Trafford clubs most commercially viable player, but his relationship with his manager has become fractious over recent months.

No final decision has been made over Pogba’s future, although he is thought to be included in a large group of players who have between now and the end of the season to impress Mourinho – otherwise they will be shipped out of the club and replaced this summer.
