Cesc Fabregas could leave Chelsea as early as next week according to reports in France.

The Spain international may be one of the most creative players in Premier League history, but he has found game time hard to come by this season under Maurizio Sarri, making just five appearances in the league this season.

Chelsea boss Sarri has shifted N’Golo Kante further forward from his usual defensive midfield role in place of summer signing Jorginho, with Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek being used more regularly than Fabregas, who has seemingly slipped to sixth choice.

Fabregas has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Monaco, where he would link up with his former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry, who is of course the manager of the principality club.

According to French publication L’Equipe, the 31-year-old has agreed to a move, which includes a whopping £9 million signing-on fee.

Fabregas’ contract expires this summer, but the report claims that he could make the move as early as next week, providing the right deal arrives at Stamford Bridge.
