The north Londoners saw their lead reduced after a 1-1 draw with Brentford last weekend and have failed to win in three games in all competitions. According to the Evening Standard, Arteta is now considering changes to his tried and tested team in order to refresh his side.

No manager in the Premier League has made fewer changes to their starting XI this season than Arteta, who has made just 14 alterations throughout the campaign so far. The draw with Brentford was the sixth consecutive league game that he has gone with an unchanged side, but the Spaniard could hand Trossard his chance against City.

The Belgium international has impressed in his cameo appearances since signing from Brighton last month and scored just four minutes after coming off the bench against Brentford. With Gabriel Martinelli struggling to replicate the form he showed pre-World Cup, Arteta is considering handing Trossard a start.

City have decisions of their own to make with Erling Haaland facing a race to prove his fitness. The Norwegian was substituted at half-time of City’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend as a precaution and Pep Guardiola has insisted he will not risk Haaland’s fitness at the Emirates. The 22-year-old is the leading scorer in the Premier League this season with 25 goals from 21 appearances.
