Redknapp: Arsenal have been badly run and there is no ‘quick fix.’

Jamie Redknapp has warned Arsenal fans not to expect instant success under Unai Emery as the club has been badly run for some time.

Arsenal went on a 22 game unbeaten run earlier in the season, leading many Gunners supporters to believe that the club was now ready to challenge for the Premier League title again.

However, the Gunners have hit a poor run of form in recent weeks, taking just seven points from their last six league games, and have slipped six points behind fourth place Chelsea, who they face tonight at the Emirates.

Redknapp highlighted Arsenal’s recent record of allowing some of their most talented players run down their contracts and leave for free as a sign of poor management at the Emirates, and insisted that Gunners fans need to be patient with Emery.

‘Arsenal fans should be under no illusion that turning this club round will not be a quick fix. It has been run badly for quite some time.’ Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

‘They have let more than £100million of talent in Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere leave the club for next to nothing and been held to ransom by Mesut Ozil.

‘The players are responding to Unai Emery, but the squad isn’t good enough to challenge for the title. Patience is key.’
