Real Sociedad are the latest side to have expressed interest in signing Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea.
The centre-back is free to leave Chelsea this summer and has been subject of an approach from Napoli. The Serie A side have contacted Chelsea over an initial loan deal, though the Blues’ preference is a permanent sale. Chelsea value the Frenchman at around €30m to €35m.
According to El Gold Digital, Real Sociedad have now made an approach for the defender. The La Liga outfit are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of Europa League football in 2026/27, secured after last season’s Copa del Rey success. A centre-back is on the agenda after Duje Caleta-Car returned to Lyon, following his loan spell in San Sebastien. Like Napoli, Sociedad have enquired about an initial loan deal.
Sociedad are focused on a left-footed centre-back to feature in a back three system, after a failed move for Marcos Senesi earlier in the summer. The Argentine instead joined Tottenham on a free transfer from Bournemouth.
Chelsea are willing to let Badiashile leave after securing Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace for a fee of £52m. Fellow defenders Trevoh Chalobah and Axel Disasi are also expected to depart.
